How It Went
The Social was a hit. Seniors filled the cafeteria for lunch, picked up their senior shirts and their yard signs, took pictures, and won raffle prizes.
Fratelli's sent 600 sandwiches and there were boxes left at the end. Those went to the AFHS staff first, and the rest went to the Apex Police Department.
Thank you to Fratelli's Delicatessen. The Apex deli at Sweetwater Town Center made 600 sandwiches for the class - the committee's single biggest food order of the year, and they got it right. They cater, and graduation-party season is coming, so please keep them in mind. Details on the Donations page.
Thank You to the Parents Who Worked It
The Social took a full day of parent labour and almost none of it was visible by the time the seniors walked in.
Thank you to the parents who picked up the food, decorated the cafeteria, worked the event itself, handed out the yard signs and the senior t-shirts at the distribution tables, watched the food stations through both lunch waves, and then came back afterward to clean up. Setting up a room for 700 seniors and putting it back the way you found it is most of the job, and it is the part nobody sees.

A huge thank-you to the entire AFHS staff, including the administrators, teachers, kitchen and custodial teams, and School Resource Officers, for helping make the Senior Social possible.
We are also grateful to the AFHS Student Council advisers and their incredible student representatives for their enthusiasm, leadership, and hard work.
Finally, thank you to the senior parents who picked up food, decorated, distributed T-shirts and yard signs, monitored the food stations, and returned afterward to help clean up. This event truly took a community, and every helping hand made a difference.

The senior committee runs on parent volunteers and donations, and there is a full year of events left. Item donations are closed now that the fall events have run, but volunteering, gift cards and monetary donations all still help.
