Senior Parking Lottery

Seniors get first access to on-campus parking at AFHS. Spaces are limited and assigned through a lottery, not first-come, first-served.

Results are out. Recipients were notified by email on August 3 - the school says to check your student email, so have your senior look in their WCPSS account (including spam). Some families also saw it at the address used to enter the lottery.

If your senior got a space, there is a six-item packet to put together, including a notarized application and photocopies. See Step 3 below. The first pickup is August 10-11, and there will be other chances after that, so if those two days do not work for your family it is not a problem - just give the notary step a little lead time. If your senior did not get a space, Round 2 opens August 10 for any spaces left over.

Key Details

How It Works - Senior Lottery

Step 1: Enter the Lottery ✓ Closed

July 6 to July 31 - this step is done. Entry closed at midnight on July 31, with no extensions.

Step 2: Recipients Notified ✓ Sent August 3

Recipients were notified by email - the school's own message tells families to check their student email. Have your senior look in their WCPSS student account, including spam and promotions folders, since school mail often lands there. Some families also saw it at the address used to enter the lottery, so check there too.

That notification also carries the registration link, so everything you need arrives in one place - and you can go straight to the form here if you cannot find the email.

Heard nothing at either address? Contact Asst. Principal Will Kasapidis ([email protected]) rather than assuming - and remember Round 2 opens August 10 for leftover spaces.

Step 3: Complete Registration ← you are here

Start here: complete the AFHS Parking Vehicle Registration 2026/27 form. That is the same link that came in the notification email, so go straight there - no need to hunt for it on the school website. The school asks for the form, the driver license number, and payment before a pass is issued.

Then bring all six of these with you. Bring photocopies rather than originals - the school does not make copies at the table, and a complete packet means your senior walks away with the pass on the first try.

#What to bring
1The application, printed, signed, and notarized
2The AFHS Parking Vehicle Registration form, completed. Have the driver license number in hand - the form asks for it
3Photocopy of a valid NC driver license. A learner permit will not be accepted
4Photocopy of the vehicle registration
5Printed receipt for the $200 parking fee, paid through School Cash Online
6Printed receipt for the $45 senior fee, also through School Cash Online
A few things worth planning around:

Step 4: Pick Up Your Parking Pass

First pickup: August 10 and 11 - at AFHS, 9-11am and 12-2pm

Bring the packet from Step 3. Spot assignments are random, so showing up first does not get you a better spot - and there is no advantage to squeezing into these two days if they are awkward for you.

These are not the only pickup days. More opportunities follow before school starts, and we will post them here as the school announces them. If August 10-11 do not work, your senior does not lose the space.

Questions We Are Working On

Families have raised these, and the school's published process does not answer them. All four have been emailed to Asst. Principal Will Kasapidis, and we are waiting on his official answer. We will post it here as soon as we have it.

No need to email Mr. Kasapidis about these four - they are already in front of him, and one answer will cover everyone. If your situation is urgent or specific to your family, of course reach out ([email protected]).

Round 2 - If Spaces Remain

If spaces remain after the senior lottery, a second round opens to students in grades 11 and 12.

Same rule as Round 1: do not submit forms or pay anything until your student is confirmed for a space.
