Support Senior Events

Senior events cost money. The PTSA gives the senior committee a budget, but it does not cover everything. That is where you come in.

A gift card for a raffle, ten dollars to the senior fund. It all goes straight to the events.

Item donations are closed now that the fall events have run. Gift cards and monetary donations are still welcome and are used all year.

Ordering a senior yard sign is one of the easiest ways to support the events. Your purchase helps fund Senior Social, Senior Sunrise, and Senior Sunset.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are the one item still being collected, because they keep and get used all year. With the chalk awards behind us, they now go toward Mr. Patriot, Senior Sunset in the spring, and thank-yous for the AFHS staff and the officers who work senior events. Thank You to the Donors

Senior events happen because families and local businesses pitch in. The donors below gave food, gift cards, services or funds to the Class of 2027 outright. Businesses the committee paid to feed the class are thanked further down, under Businesses That Took Care of Us - they earned the recommendation, but they were vendors, not donors, and this page should not blur the two.

🚓 The Apex Police Department

The Senior Parade runs on an Apex Police Department permit, and it does not happen without them. Officers worked the route on the morning of August 24 so that a long line of teenage drivers could get from Apex Nature Park to school safely in the dark.

Thank you to Lt. Best, and to every officer who worked that morning. Thank you also to our School Resource Officers, Officer Perez and Officer Arata, who show up for senior events well past what the job asks - Officer Perez set the lineup and traffic plan for the park and asked for the parent volunteers who made the staging work.

Leftover sandwiches from the Senior Social went to the department, which is a small thank-you for a large favor. Gift card donations to the committee go toward thanking the officers and the AFHS staff who work these events.

Photography Eh Roxane Warren of Photography Eh

Roxane Warren of Photography Eh donated $500 toward Class of 2027 senior activities, and photographed Parking Spot Chalk Decorating on August 23.

That is a remarkable gift. The $500 goes straight into the events this class gets to have, and because she was there with a camera, families got to decorate with their seniors instead of trying to document it themselves. She offered both without being asked.

Please show her some Class of 2027 love. Supporting the businesses that support our seniors is the best thank-you there is.

🍟 McDonald's on Lake Pine

McDonald's on Lake Pine donated food for Senior Sunrise on August 24. Breakfast for a class this size is a real commitment, and they gave it outright - the only food donation of the weekend. Everything else on the menu that morning, the committee bought.

They are on US Hwy 64 at Lake Pine. Please give them your business.

Businesses That Took Care of Us

These two are not donors - the senior committee paid them - but they made the weekend work, and one of them unlocked the door before dawn to do it. They earned the recommendation.

🥪 Fratelli's Delicatessen

Fratelli's Delicatessen made the 600 sandwiches for the Senior Social on August 21. The committee paid for them, and they were worth it - there were boxes left over, which went to the AFHS staff and then to the Apex Police Department.

Fratelli's is a family-run deli at Sweetwater Town Center, started by Shannon and Dave Thomas with Chefs RJ and Tyler Cancel, with house-made meats and bread from local bakeries. They cater, which is worth filing away now - graduation parties are coming, and this is a business that fed our seniors first.

🍩 Peace, Love and Little Donuts of Apex

Peace, Love and Little Donuts of Apex made the donuts for Senior Sunrise on Monday, August 24, and opened early that morning to do it. The committee paid for the donuts; the early open was the favor. Seniors were at the stadium before dawn on the first day of school, and donuts are the thing they actually want at that hour.

They are right here in Apex on Teachey Place. Stop in, or keep them in mind the next time you need to bring something for a class, a team, or a party.

Please show these businesses some Class of 2027 love. One donated the food, two of them cooked for our kids and got it right, and one of those opened early on a Monday morning to do it. Buying from them is the best thank-you there is.

Thank You for the Supplies and the Time

Thank you to every family who donated food, drinks, decorations, supplies and gift cards for the fall events, and to everyone who gave their time - picking up food, decorating, running the shirt and sign tables, lining up cars at the park before 6:00 AM, serving breakfast at the stadium, and staying to clean up afterward.

Three events in four days ran on that, and they ran well. Item donations are now closed; gift cards and monetary donations are still welcome and still needed. Senior Sunset - Spring 2027

The last event of the year is in the spring. Needs will be posted here closer to the date: raffle prizes, food and drinks, and decorations.

Raffle Prize Donations

The senior committee raffles off prizes at Senior Sunset in the spring. The August raffle at the Senior Social has already run. Gift cards are always useful, but the prizes students get most excited about are the ones they can picture using next year. This list is here so families and businesses can plan ahead; nothing is needed right now.

If you own a restaurant or a local business and want to help, please reach out. A tray of sandwiches, a stack of gift cards, a case of water. It all helps. The AFHS PTSA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and your donation may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The PTSA can provide a receipt for your records.

The senior committee does not treat donations as anonymous charity. If you contribute:

If you have something else in mind - a sign at the event, a mention from the microphone, a coupon in with the yard signs - ask. There are some rules around school and PTSA sponsorships, so not everything is possible, but the committee is happy to talk through what is.

Where Your Money Goes

Senior Committee funds cover:

The senior committee is run entirely by parent volunteers. No one is paid. Senior Committee funds support senior events and their related expenses, including food, supplies, printing, and permits.
Donations made directly to the AFHS PTSA may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The PTSA is a 501(c)(3) organization. Keep the receipt provided through Givebacks or the PTSA for your records.
