Apex Friendship - Class of 2027
Hey, Senior Families!
This hub was created to make senior-year information a little easier for families to find.
Senior year comes with a lot of moving parts - events, deadlines, forms, college applications, and information shared across school messages, Facebook posts, emails, and group texts. This hub brings those resources together in one place.
It is simply a parents-helping-parents resource for AFHS Class of 2027 families.
You'll find senior events, volunteer opportunities, donation needs, parking and portrait information, signs and shirts, school forms, college-preparation resources, and other details that can be easy to miss.
We'll update the hub as new information becomes available. It is not an official AFHS, WCPSS, or PTSA webpage, and we cannot guarantee that every detail will always be correct. We welcome corrections if you notice something that needs to be updated.
For official dates, requirements, forms, fees, and policies, always confirm directly with AFHS or WCPSS.

Official School Links
This hub gathers senior information in one place, but these are the official sources worth bookmarking too:
- AFHS Senior Class Information - the school's own senior timeline, rehearsal and awards details, and graduation speaker application. Hard to find on the AFHS site (it sits under Student Life → Student Services → Contact Us), so bookmark it
- AFHS School Website - the final word on official dates, forms, and fees
- AFHS PTSA Senior Page - the PTSA's official senior page, and the official source for PTSA senior information

Latest Updates
- August 8 - Thank you, Roxane Warren of Photography Eh - she has donated $500 toward Class of 2027 senior activities and will be photographing Parking Spot Chalk Decorating on August 23. Please keep her in mind next time your family needs a photographer. See Support Senior Events.
- August 7 - The Common App Activities section changed. It is now "Activities and Experiences," and the Position/Leadership box appears only after a Yes/No question. "No" is a complete answer - no need to invent titles. See College Prep.
- August 6 - Senior parade theme announced: Aloha Senior Year. Line up at Apex Nature Park by 6am on the first day, roll at 6:30am, with prizes for the best-decorated cars. See Parade + Sunrise.
- August 6 - Off-campus lunch passes are handed out during parking pass pickup, August 10-11 - and in the front office the following week if you cannot make it. Application and $5 payment come first. See Info and Forms.
- August 3 - Parking lottery results went out by email. The school says to check your student email. Recipients register using the link in that email; everyone else can enter Round 2 starting August 10. See Parking Lottery.
Happening Right Now
- Common App is open. It opened for the 2026-27 cycle on August 1. Seniors can create an account and start now - the essay and the activities list are the parts worth doing before school starts. Note that the Activities section changed this year, including the Position/Leadership field, which now hides behind a Yes/No question. See College Prep.
- Senior yard signs are $35 now that the early-order window has closed. Still available - order here, and enter your student's name at checkout. Sales close after the first weekend of school.
- Got a parking space? Here is how to claim it. Start with the vehicle registration form, then put together the packet: notarized application, photocopies of the license and vehicle registration, and printed receipts for both the $200 parking fee and the $45 senior fee. Bring photocopies rather than originals, since the school does not make copies at the table. First pickup is August 10-11, and there will be other chances after that - no need to panic if those two days do not work for your family. No space yet? Round 2 opens August 10.
- Student schedules are open in draft form (core courses). Electives are added August 12, and schedules stay in draft until the first day of school. See Info and Forms.
- Off-campus lunch pass applications are open. Get the form notarized, or bring photo ID and sign it in front of AFHS staff. Pay the $5 online, then collect the pass August 10-11 alongside parking pickup.
- Senior Pictures at AFHS with Cady Studios. Next session: October 20. Book at cady.com/schedule.
Coming Up in August
- Monday-Tuesday, August 10-11 - First parking pass pickup at AFHS, 9-11am and 12-2pm. Bring the six-item packet - details. More pickup days follow, so these two are not your only chance. Off-campus lunch passes are handed out in the same windows - see Info and Forms. Round 2 of the parking lottery opens Aug 10-13 if spaces remain
- Wednesday, August 12 - Schedules open with electives added
- Friday, August 21 - Senior Social, 11am-1pm, AFHS Cafeteria. Senior shirts are handed out here.
- Sunday, August 23 - Parking Spot Chalk Decorating, 5-7pm
- Monday, August 24 - Senior Parade + Sunrise, First Day of School. Theme is Aloha Senior Year - line up at Apex Nature Park by 6am, roll at 6:30am, prizes for the best-decorated cars. Meningococcal vaccine proof is due - students can be excluded without it
- August 25-27 - Senior class meetings at Pat Chats
Have a Question? Want to Help?
Email the PTSA senior committee: [email protected]
Volunteer, donate, or just have a question? That is the email to use.
Follow the committee on Instagram: @afhs_ptsa_seniors_2027
That is where the PTSA senior committee posts reminders and photos throughout the year. There is also an AFHS Class of 2027 Facebook group run by parents, not by the PTSA, if you want to connect with other families.
Warmly,
Shelley
